Summary of Findings

The South Dayi Assembly scored 57 per cent in the overall assessment of its performance, based on the GAS audit findings. Strengths: The Assembly solicited the views of the community in selecting the 10 seater W/C toilet at Dzameni Market and Health Centre at Kpeve. Weaknesses: The Assembly had not conducted any evaluation of the work so far executed.

Recommendation

The Assembly should sustain and document its efforts in involving the communities in the initiation and planning of capital projects. The Assembly should ensure that the transparency and fairness exhibited during the procurement of the two capital projects The Assembly should keep up its supervisory activities to ensure the quality of works and also analyse and explain the variances between actual and plan activities so that the analysis and explanations would inform future decision making. The Assemblies should liaise with user institutions and communities to share information that will enable them to assess the impact of completed projects.
